Who are the Aberfeldie Jets?
For over 45 years, the Aberfeldie Jets has been more than just a basketball club; we’re a strong, connected community that continues to grow.
What began in 1979 with one mixed team and a few dedicated volunteers has become one of Melbourne’s largest junior basketball clubs. Today, over 1,200 young players across 130+ teams proudly represent the Jets in the Keilor and Broadmeadows Basketball Associations.
Built on Purpose and Passion
We’re a junior grassroots club with a big mission:
To give as many local kids as possible the opportunity to play basketball, grow in confidence, and belong to something great.
We welcome boys and girls of all skill levels, from beginners learning to dribble to experienced players chasing their next goal.
Pathways for All Ages and Abilities
From our Junior Jets skills clinic (ages 5–11) to teams in every age group, from Under 8s through to Under 20s, we offer a pathway for every young athlete, no matter their starting point.
From Local Courts to National Programs
Many Jets players have gone on to represent:
Keilor Thunder, Broadmeadows Broncos, Melbourne Tigers, Coburg Giants, Westgate Imperials and other VJBL representative programs across Victoria.
We’re proud to have players selected for:
The Victorian National Performance Program (NPP), The State Development Program (SDP), Victorian State Teams at National Championships and the WNBL.
