Child Safety at the Aberfeldie Jets

At The Aberfeldie Jets Basketball Club, it is everyone’s responsibility is to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive sporting environment for children and young people. We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees, and volunteers. 

We endorse Basketball Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and the Victorian Government’s Child Safe Standards, and we work hard to ensure our club is a place where children feel safe, respected, and supported. 

We encourage all community members to speak up if they have concerns about a child’s welfare. Concerns should be raised immediately with our nominated Child Welfare Officer. All reports are treated confidentially, and the identity of the person reporting will not be disclosed. 

The Child Welfare Officer will report any serious incidents to Basketball Victoria, who will then determine the appropriate course of action in accordance with their policies and guidelines. 

Together, we can continue to provide a safe and positive environment for every young person who wears the Jets uniform.
