2018-19 Summer Season Dates

Important info:
  • No games are played on Saturday's of long weekends
  • The 2018-19 Summer Season is 14 rounds long. The Winter 2018 Season was 16 rounds long and the Summer 2017-18 Season was 13 rounds long. Finals are not included in Season length, we only refer to regular rounds.
  • The KBA have advised that players need to be marked as eligible to play on the sheet for a minimum number of 6 (six) games to qualify. Information on being marked as eligible to play on the scoresheet is outlined below
  • Effective from Saturday 16 June 2018, players are not required to sign the back of the scoresheet. For a player to receive a qualification game, their full name and singlet number will need to be on the scoresheet (either printed or written on) going forward. As most all Jets players names and numbers are printed on the scoresheet, if a player is not playing, it will be the job of those on the score bench to clearly put a line through absent players, indicating that they did not participate in the game, and therefore should not get a qualification for that game. If a player has been crossed off, and they arrive to the game late, they can simply be added (re-written) onto the scoresheet. At the end of the game, before the scoresheet is signed by the referee(s), it must be reflective of players who played/didn't play with those players that did not play crossed off, players added and singlet numbers correct, where applicable.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, if a player is in uniform and able to play, even if they do not get on the court (e.g. coaches decision), their name and number should be on the scoresheet. Only players who are not at the game, or not able to play as they are injured, or are not in uniform, should be crossed off.
  • The persons fulfilling score-bench duties are reminded that they are deemed to be officials for the duration of the game and should behave in a manner expected of game officials (fair, un-biased etc - Refer to Basketball Victoria code of conduct BV Codes of Conduct). Scorers should be reasonable and respectful in their approach to confirming which players are noted at being at the game or not. Any issue or dispute in the matter will ultimately be decided by the referees of the game on the day. The bylaws will be updated to reflect this change in time.
