To assist with managing heightened emotions that often appear across our Junior competition (especially in the U20 boys space), the KBA has introduced a five minute cooling off period (aka sin-bin rule) effective this Season. This rule is already in play quite successfully in the senior competition and it is hoped by introducing it into the Junior space it will assist in diffusing some of the situations which arise after a technical foul is issued.
The interpretation of this rule is outlined below (taken from the Seniors competition) and the ruling will be trialled for the Winter 2021 season. If effective, it will be adopted into the KBAJ by-laws for Summer 21/22. A “sin bin” policy will be implemented in all U20 games . Any player who refuses to abide by this policy will be asked to leave the stadium immediately The rule will be implemented as follows:
