CURRENT PLAYING SEASON
Important info:
- The 2021-2022 Summer Season is 15 rounds long for all age groups
- Finals are not included in Season length, only regular rounds
- The persons fulfilling score-bench duties are reminded that they are deemed to be officials for the duration of the game and should behave in a manner expected of game officials (fair, un-biased etc - Refer to Basketball Victoria code of conduct BV Codes of Conduct). Scorers should be reasonable and respectful in their approach to confirming which players are noted at being at the game or not. Any issue or dispute in the matter will ultimately be decided by the referees of the game on the day
- For the avoidance of doubt, if a player is in uniform and able to play, even if they do not get on the court (e.g. coaches decision), they should be confirmed as active on the electronic scoring. Players who are not at the game, or not able to play as they are injured, or are not in uniform should not be marked as active.
- To qualify for finals all players will need to play 6 games
History:
The 2021-22 Summer Season is 15 rounds long and finals will be played during the first two weekends of Term 2. Winter Season was planned for 16 rounds long but shortened to 7 rounds due to lockdown. 2021 Summer Bounce Back to Basketball Season was 7 rounds long (planned for 8 but was shortened due to lockdown). The 2020 Winter Season was planned to be 15 rounds long then COVD hit, the 2019-20 Summer Season was 13 rounds long. The 2019 Winter Season 15 rounds, the 2018-19 Summer Season 14 rounds, the Winter 2018 Season 16 rounds and the Summer 2017-18 Season 13 rounds long.
