Registering for Summer 2022/2023 Junior Jets skills clinics
Hi parents and care givers,
Aberfeldie Jets are excited to announce that registrations for our Junior Jets Summer 22/23 program are now open for RETURNING children.
As returning families you have until 9pm Friday 16th September to re-register before registrations are opened to children on our wait list. Please do not share this info with anyone else as it is important that all previous participants have the chance to register before children on our wait list are offered a place. If you have accepted a place in a team and have received this email in error please disregard.
Who: The program is aimed at children who qualify to play in our Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 competition, wanting to gain skills before entering our mainstream junior domestic competition. The Classes are grouped by years of birth
Duration: Face to face sessions start on 10th October 2022 and end 9th December 2022, the program recommences in Term 1, 2023. Return 6th February and end 30th March.
Time: The session you are booking is shown in the heading, you cannot swap face to face classes once enrolled. There are no make up classes and there are no classes on school or public holidays
Address: Strathmore Primary School, on-street parking available in York St, school gymnasium is located next to the outdoor basketball courts, enter the schoolyard from the gate opposite 14 York St
Cost: There is a two step registration process to register. Fees are $220 per Season paid via the Jets Store (what you are doing now), with an additional $10 per participant payable to Basketball Victoria via PlayHQ (separate link referred to as Step 2) to cover the cost of mandatory player insurance and license. You must complete both steps or you are not fully registered
Fees: are all-inclusive and cover all weeks of participation, insurance, court hire and cleaning costs, coach payments, training singlet and basketball for all new players. Returning players must use their existing singlet and ball
Training singlets: must be worn to all sessions by all participants no excuses, if you forget your singlet during the game you can't play, same as at training
No refunds: Fees are not refundable for non-attendance or missed sessions, we do not offer make up sessions
Registrations once opened are first in, best dressed, classes are capped . Our boys classes are very popular and do sell out. We currently have over 140 children on our Junior Jets wait list waiting to enrol, so please if you didn’t get placed in a team and are returning to our program you need to enrol prior to 9pm Friday 16th September to re register before registrations are opened to children on our wait list
Full fees must be paid prior to attendance, this is not a pay at the door activity and there are no refunds for withdrawal from the program nor missed or cancelled classes.
Please note that the reversible training singlet is to be worn at all training sessions. If you lose or damage the singlet or ball you must purchase another at your own expense. This numberless reversible training singlet is different to the reversible numbered game day uniform and cannot be worn during Saturday games once your child is allocated a team, they can however continue to wear the reversible numberless training singlet to train in once allocated a team.
Our age groups apply both to our teams and our skills clinics, classes will be grouped by gender and similar years of birth where possible, we reserve the right to merge classes should enrolments be low
Registering for the program is easy, however thanks to the introduction of a new system by Basketball Victoria it is now a two-part registration process, you MUST complete BOTH steps to secure your spot:
STEP 1 MANDATORY Register your child ($220) for a session based on gender and year of birth (this link is referred to as Step 1). Take care to choose correctly otherwise your child may miss out on a spot if registered incorrectly. STEP 2 MANDATORY Purchase a Basketball Victoria license fee for your child ($10) this link is referred to as Step 2
You will receive confirmation emails for both of these steps, please retain them for your records. You do not need to send them to the Club we can see who has registered via our systems.
Please remember this program is for those children who have not yet joined a team. If your child has been placed in a team for the Summer 22/23 season they are no longer eligible for the Junior Jets Program.
